Gym Classes & Training at CSC
What we offer
Conditioning Class
This is the main class run from the gym. In it we focus on general strength exercises such as squats, deadlifts, presses and accessory movements, bodyweight and gymnastic exercises as well as Olympic weightlifting. We then switch focus to conditioning where equipment such as kettlebells, sleds, battle ropes, sandbags, slam balls, rowing machines, assault bikes and many more will be used to increase your heart rate and give you a great workout.
Mobility, stability and technique are at the forefront within our programming. Without these, advances in volume and intensity will not be met for your own safety.
Core Values
Without a strong core, heavy weight should not and ultimately will not be lifted. This is NOT abs, bums and tums. We work on core to extremity strength and stability. Planks, glute activation, anti-rotation exercises and carrying heavy objects are all needed in order to build a strong foundation. You will not see a sit-up or crunch in sight. A slower pace than our conditioning class but ultimately just as important.
Buggy Conditioning
A great way to get back into fitness without worrying about arranging childcare as you can bring your baby/toddler with you.
It’s not about shedding the pounds as fast as possible it’s about becoming healthier and stronger at your own pace. We want to you maintain and promote a healthier lifestyle that you will pass on to your children as they grow and become stronger with you.
Plus it’s a great chance for us to chat about our beautiful children and how we’re coping with lack of sleep!
These classes are not just for new mums, our workouts cater for all fitness levels and fitness needs. Children do not need to be in a pram to attend.
Classes are Wednesday and Fridays 10.15-11.15am during term time. Booking is essential.
We recommend waiting at least 6 weeks (8-12 weeks for C-section) before starting these classes.
It is vital you get the all clear to exercise at your postnatal check up before starting this class or any exercise. Postnatal training is different due to the changes the body goes through during the whole pregnancy. Extra care should be taken with core exercises and lifting weights.
Kettlebell
An intense session using a wide variety of kettlebell exercises and workouts.
Kettlebell training is simple but it’s not easy. The kettlebell is a tool that provides the resilience and work capacity suitable for the tactical operative as much as the ordinary individual who wants to be fit enough to embrace and enjoy an active lifestyle.
When you swing the kettlebell every part of the body is involved in each and every rep. Your body is always doing something, either producing force (swinging it up), reducing force (as it swings between the legs) or reversing the load (as one goes from the backswing to the next rep). This leads to very high workloads with much lower perception of effort. Add in the acceleration forces (3-5 times the weight of the bell) and even the average person can do extraordinary workloads in very short order!
Swinging the bells lets you work your cardiovascular and muscular systems at the same time and can burn upwards of 20 calories per minute, even with very light bells – a very efficient way to get in shape very quickly.
During these classes you will learn the fundamental principles behind the many different exercises that can be done with the Kettlebell. We will also look at the sporting aspect of kettlebell training for those who would want to take their training even further.
Open Gym
Open gym allows you to take your training into your own hands. You can either do the workout of the day in your own time, or work on something yourself. The classes take priority so if you’re using a piece of kit that the class needs, you’ll have to give it up.
Ladies only
This class caters for ladies of all fitness levels. Allowing you to train in a more comfortable environment with other like-minded ladies. All exercises can be scaled to meet your current fitness level. We have a variety of equipment making the workouts fun, varied and challenging. You will not only learn about new movements and exercises but also push yourself and others around you to succeed.
Personal training
We also offer 1:1 or 1:2 personal training. Our coaches will listen to whatever your goals are and help you work towards them. We will address any postural dysfunctions or asymmetries you may have in order for us to proceed towards your targets. We have trained many high level athletes and continue to build on previous successes within our sport specific strength and conditioning programs. We also pride ourselves on helping the everyday athlete (thats you) achieve a healthier, pain free lifestyle by increasing the robustness, strength, fitness and function of your body.
We have rehab packages available for those recovering from injury who are looking to get back to performance.

Individual Online Programming
Personal online programming using True Coach. A brilliant system I use for programming your workouts. This isn’t just an excel spreadsheet, this system allows me to show you exactly how I want you to perform the exercise which I am programming for you. There is almost 1000 exercise videos on the system with almost 200 created by myself. Along with the description of sets, reps, tempos, percentages and other information relevant to the exercise, I truly believe this is the best format for bespoke indvidualised programming. True coach has live feedback functions so we can speak to each other in real time, regardless of where you are in the world.

Roots of movement
Do you or have you suffered from severe joint pain? Your back? Knee? Shoulders? Or all of the above? If this is you, you more than likely used to love being active, but through having to sit in one position for most of the working day you have developed severe joint pain. You have been to see medical professionals, which hasn't helped, so you push through the pain in your life and can't see that changing anytime soon.
I've put together an assessment and plan, using my learning, experience, and experiences in rehabilitation.
This will include a movement assessment, and simple plan for getting off the painkillers and back to enjoying life.
To book your Roots of Movement consultation, drop me a message and I'll send you the details to get you in and start the process to get you back to fitness.
Functional Movement Screen
Being able to move well is something we take for granted. Being able to move well under resistance is something most of us can’t do, or shouldn’t be doing in excess. The functional movement screen will help us identify key areas of the body that are weak, immobile or unstable. Once we have found these we can start to use corrective exercises to help build a strong foundation for human movement. The FMS is free for all Premium members, £25 for other members and £35 for non-members.
